Opening Meditation

Meditation is an essential practice in yoga. In fact, originally meditation was THE main practice of yoga but many modern yogis do not regularly engage in meditation. The effects of meditation can be felt quite quickly, as it works on the quality of our minds and awareness. Working with the mind is essential because it is the mind which actually determines our experience in life, and changing the qualities of the mind can profoundly transform our lives for the better.

Here is a short opening meditation that you can do before the rest of your practice, or on it’s own. It will help you get centered, grounded and aware, which is never a bad thing! To do the meditation, simply sit down comfortably with an aligned and lifted spine,  press play and close your eyes. Follow the meditation as best you can and try to practice it regularly. The more you engage with the meditation, the deeper you will go.
